Things You Need To Know About Lexus IS 250c
The new and exotic looking Lexus IS 250C convertible is by far more attractive than the only current convertible model of Toyota luxury division, the Lexus SC 430. Shown at the 2008 Paris Motor Show, the IS 250C convertible offers all the amenities and features buyers have come to expect from a luxury convertible, power-folding hard top, 6 speed automatic transmission. The only downturn is an underwhelming, gasoline V6 engine.
The redesigned Lexus IS 250 and IS 350 have seen universal acceptability as a luxury sport sedan, leaning more toward the luxury end of the spectrum than other manufacturers offerings like a BMW 3 Series or Audi A4. Despite its cushy interior, the IS 250 models remain fun to drive.
Styling The 2010 IS 250 is very similar to the SC 43, an occurrence that is probably a part of good marketing strategies. Hard core zealots would definitely prefer a vehicle with more IS-F influence. Whatever may be the case, the IS 250C is overall, an attractive car, probably sticking to the open sports car philosophy more than other luxury car marquees that are a part of the competition.
It has the quickest time of folding the hard convertible top, which is just 20 seconds, and it stows away in the IS 250C trunk, leaving behind a crisp and clean main body line with only minimally invasive breaks in the bodywork. One added feature is the subtle boat-tail rear spoiler, adding to its attractiveness, and blending in well. This feature was absent in the Lexus IS 250 and IS 350.
Most true sports car fans do not tend to take a liking to the SC 430, a replacement of the SC 400. It is considered to be a little too much on the feminine side. The 2010 Lexus IS 250C is a part of the evolving Lexus convertible models, although people continue to give preference to sharp lines from the sedan and F models.
Performance The Paris 2008 debut for the IS 250C was all about Lexus showing off the styling of the car. Without the power to match many of the Germans, will it really sell? Maybe Lexus is looking at the Ford example of selling more V6 Mustangs than the high power V8 models.
The fact remains that with the output, 208 Horsepower, the Lexus can be compared to what a lot of four cylinder engines in the market are producing today. How can Lexus justify this strategy? Maybe, they have something more up their sleeve.
To ensure, that IS 250C uses its full horsepower potential, it is equipped with a Tiptronic-style 6 speed automatic, which will provide the gear ratios. It would not make much sense if the Lexus goes head to head with the likes of Infiniti G37, BMW 3 Series or Audi A4 convertible buyers, as far as marketing strategy is concerned.
It can be considered a good step up from the Lexus, and a sure higher level from the SC 430. People who will purchase an IS 250C, when present in the market during spring of next year, all over the world, will probably desire more.
