Ford Escape: The First Hybrid Developed In The Nation
Believe it or not, the first crossbreed car that was produced in America was the Ford Escape. It was meant to have its introduction in 2003 however it didn’t officially debut until 2004. The Escape is actually a full hybrid car that either runs exclusively on electricity or gasoline or use both at the same time. Ford designed the Escape to keep a good balance between efficiency and fuel economy. Amazingly, the Escape has the capacity to generate under one pound of toxic pollutants for every 15,000 miles while trucks produce 105 pounds on average and cars product 67 pounds.
