A pair of suspicious men was seized following their attempted burglary of a car in the parking lot of a Houston shopping complex. They were discovered to be Chuck Rodriquez and Ramon Fuentes, who were captured after a siren was heard.
The man who owned the car was Chris Jefferson. He stated that he had furnished his vehicle with additional vehicle safety products, different from the primary car alarm. Among these were motion detectors and a vibration alarm. These extra features caught the thieves by surprise.

His assumption was proven correct when the would-be robbers were caught unawares. The sound of the additional alarm surprised them, and before they knew it, the mall security was already in pursuit. Through the shopping center’s PA system, Mr. Jefferson was then informed of the incident.
I am glad my preparations paid off. Petty crimes are rampant and the least we can do as regular citizens is to stay alert. While anyone can fall victim to carjacking, it can be prevented by using vehicle safety products and other burglar devices, Chris said.
It was found out that Rodriguez and Fuentes already had criminal records involving different burglary acts. The pair had allegedly been making money through these crimes after they had entered the country illegally.
Houston law enforcers praised Mr. Jefferson for his spirited attitude toward preventing crimes. They enjoined the state’s law-abiding citizens to fight crime by being prepared for circumstances similar to what the quick-witted car owner encountered.
