If you are carrying standard items or baggage you could either go for racks or bag. But for large gears or irregularly shaped stuff, roof racks go best. However, if weather elements are risky for your kit, the bag would give the proper protection.
Regular travelers, which are qualified adventurers, are fond of the roof racks. They are perfect in carrying a full gear for survival – jokingly, your entire home. Occasional vacationers on the other hand prefer the bags because they are compact and go off quickly. These are probably all about roof racks and bags.
