One Of The Most Historical Cars – The Beetle
Cars such as the Beetle date back to Nazi Germany where Hitler played an influence. The round shape of the cars was created by Erwin Komenda. During the second world war only a handful of these cars had actually been manufactured. The main idea behind the car was that Hilter wanted to create a car that was affordable to all German citizens who would purchase the car through a funding scheme.
If all went to plan then the Beetle would be a roaring success. However it wasn’t until after the war had ended until the Beetle saw its most success. Nobody could possibly predict how popular the Volkswagen Beetle has been or that it would see a complete restyle in 1999.
The history of the car goes all the way back to Nazi Germany in 1930’s where Adolf Hitler wanted a car that was affordable to everyone. It was Ferdinand Porsche who first proposed the car to Hitler who helped to influence the shape and nickname of the car. It was planned that almost every German citizen would purchase the vehicle through a savings scheme.

The Beetle is a family orientated car that is recognised all over the world and is still popular today. It was the latest Beetle that began the retro craze in 1999. The look was very similar to the old Beetle, but with a new kind of twist. Again it has the round front profile although it appeals more to women this time round. It is growing in popularity more for its looks than anything else it has to offer. The inside of the new Beetle is not roomy and the boot has hardly any room to fit anything in.
The new Beetle does not appeal to families unlike the old style Beetle did. A family would need a bigger car since the new look Beetle is probably only really suited for a couple. There is a nice range of engines to choose from, these provide good running prices, especially the 1. 9 TDL.
Herbie was the first film to display a Volkswagen Beetle who had a mind of his own. Herbie was a white Volkswagen Beetle who could talk and think. It is perhaps due to the success of the film that the Volkswagen Beetle grew in popularity again. There are fans of the Beetle that would never buy another type of car they are so fond of it.
