Since 1957 Harley Davidson have been produced a motorcycle titled the Sporster, yet it was not until 1986 that the first Harley 883 rolled off of their production line. Such improvements that they have made to the bike in order to improve the bikes ride quality have included such items as an enlarged rear axle which has increased the bikes stability. They have also renewed the frame with the engine being mounted on rubber, which decreases the amount of vibration that it produces.

Gone is the chain drive system for spinning the rear wheel and has been replaced with a belt drive system. Also they have now put a helical cut gear transmission unit in all their bikes, which results in less gear whine noises being made by them. Whilst the other change to be made and which occurred this year is that the engines are now fuel injected rather than being carburetted.

As with all Harley Davidson’s the 883 models provide you with the same ride quality and prestige that the more expensive models offer. So why shouldn’t they seriously consider getting themselves one of these.
